The LG Dishwasher Error Code OE indicates to the Water Draining problem. This error means that there is some obstruction or fault that is causing the water not draining out of the dishwasher issue. LG will show the OE Error code whenever it gets the signal that the water drain pump is not working correctly.
The OE error can be due to many reasons. We recommend first to check the drain hose is clogged or not. Also, ensure that there is no bending in the drain hose. Also, check the mesh filter and ensure that no food particles are stuck in it. In some scenarios, you will also need to check the drain pump for any kind of blockage. It is better to clean all the components to get rid of the error.
How To Fix LG Dishwasher Error Code OE
As we have already discussed before, the OE error means there is a DRAIN ISSUE. There can be many reasons for it. To decide what is causing the error, you’ll want to test each of these issues.
Control Panel Error
Sometimes control panel display will wrongly display the Error Code OE. To ensure that it is just a temporary malfunction and not any major issue, please follow the below instruction.
- Switch OFF the dishwasher.
- Disconnect the water supply.
- Wait for 15-20 minutes.
- Turn the dishwasher again.
If this does not reset the error, then please proceed to the next step.
Clogged or Bent Hose
You need to check the drain hose and make sure it is not clogged or kinked. If you see that the drain hose is bent, then make it straight. It will allow the smoother flow of water. Many times, in a colder region, the drain hose can freeze, So start the heater and let it unfreeze.
Just straighten the hose, and you will notice that this simple step will solve the issues in the majority of the cases, and your dishwasher will start working normally again. Start the machine again to see if you still get the error. If the hose is dirty, then you need to clean it as well.
Many times, while moving the dishwasher, the hoses can get kinked. So, when putting the drain hose back into the dishwasher, please make sure that there are no bent on it. Also, ensure that the drain hose is not clogged. You need to clean the drain hose and remove any food particles stuck inside it. There are many ways you can do it. Let’s see some of them.
- Clean the drain hose using a thin wire brush.
- Clean the drain hose using the suction power of a vacuum.
- Remove the hose and rinse it underwater.
- Many special detergents can be used for cleaning the drain hose.
If this does not solve the problem, then you have to check the drain filter.
Clogged Drain Filter
If you have not clean filters for a long time, then chances are there that it may have become clogged. This will give Water Draining problem, and you will get the LG Dishwasher Error Code OE.
The food particles, hair can get stuck in the filter and hence can make the draining of the water slowly. We suggest you clean the filter and remove all the stuck food particles and debris from it.
So, for cleaning the filter, please follow the below steps.
- Switch of the dishwasher.
- Shut down the water valve.
- Remove the dish racks.
- Remove the bottom panel.
- Now you can see the dishwasher filter.
- Remove the drain filter by twisting it to the right.
- Rinse the filter under running water.
- Ensure that filter is spotless, and there is no debris stuck on it.
- Place the filter back into the dishwasher and start the wash cycle.
Faulty Drain Pump
If the above solutions do not work for you, then you have to check the drain pump and determine if its faulty or not.
So to check the drain pump, we suggest you press the POWER button to start the LG dishwasher. After this, you need to start the SPIN cycle by pressing the spin key at the highest setting.
Now start the wash cycle. Once dishwasher starts and you hear a humming noise then this is a good indication that the drain pump is faulty and should be replaced. As the drain pump is not working, it will not be able to drain out the water, and water will start building up at the bottom of the dishwasher. This will lead to the LG Dishwasher Error Code OE.

Faulty Pressure Switch
The main function of the pressure switch is to control the water level in the dishwasher. Many times it may be worn out or becomes faulty, then it will not be able to sense the water level. When this happens, water can overflow, causing the OE error code. A faulty sensor may also send the signal to the control panel that there np water in the tub, but in fact, there is water.
