Find the Source of Water Leakage
You should check the bottom pan and see if there is water in it. If you find the water, then please proceed with the below step. If the bottom pan is dry, then you can skip this step.
- Remove the screw from the top cover.
- Carefully remove the screws from the side walls.
- Now, the bottom pan will be visible.
- Switch ON the dishwasher.
- Start the wash program.
- Note down from where the water is leaking into the pan,
You will quickly find the source of water leakage. You can use some industrial adhesive or some tape to cover the leak. It will solve your problem temporarily but for a permanent solution, you need to know the actual source of the leak.
Check the Valve
The Inlet valve is an essential part of the dishwasher. It helps in regulating the water flow into the dishwasher by opening and closing as per the wash cycle. Many times it can get damaged or clogged. You need to check the wiring with a multimeter to see if its working or not.
If you see any visible sign of the damage, then it is better to replace it with a new one. Also, we recommend rinsing the valve under running water to remove any food particles stuck inside it.
Check the solenoid part of the valve and test its contact resistance with the help of a multi-meter. A malfunctioning valve will be challenging to repair and hence buy a new one and install it. The new valves should not cost you more.
Clean the Leak Sensor
You can find the leak sensor at the bottom of the dishwasher. Its main function is to detect the water in the pan, and if the bottom pan is full, it will send the signal to the control module to start the drain pump. Many times it can get clogged, and then you need to clean the sensor and place it back. It will start working.
Also, you can use resistance and test for the continuity test between the terminal of the sensor. A faulty leak sensor should be replaced.
Drain System is Clogged
The Frigidaire Dishwasher Error Code i30 indicates an error in the draining system. Check the drainage system and see if it’s clogged or not. Check the mesh filter and ensure that it is clean and working. If the mesh filter is dirty then rinse it under running water and place it back.
Also, check the drain hose for any leaks or damage. If the drain hose is bent or kinked then straighten it. A broken drain hose must be replaced as repairing it will only work for sometime before the problem reappears. If any food particles are stuck inside the drain hose then you can clean the drain hose by removing the debris using a long thin stick.
Faulty Drain Pump
Many times the pump is not working properly. You need to check the impeller and see if its blades are moving smoothly or not. Remove the pump assembly and clean any particles such as food or hair from it. If you observe that the impeller is broken then we recommend to replace it.
Also, check the terminal of the drain motor with a multimeter and ensure that it gives a proper resistance reading. If it gives incorrect resistance reading, then it is better to replace the whole pump.
An issue with the Pressure Switch
The pressure switch helps in drawing the excess water. Check if the pressure switch is properly working and is not clogged with food particles. A faulty pressure switch will send the wrong signal to the control module even when the tank is overflowing. Hence the intake valve will not close, and you will get the leaking water issue. You will get the water in the bottom pan and also on the kitchen floor. It can be very dangerous, so you need to fix it as soon as possible.
Let see how you can clean the power switch.
- Disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply.
- Disconnect the water supply from the Frigidaire Dishwasher.
- Remove the dishwasher from the cabinet.
- Check the pressure switch and remove any stuck debris.
- Clean the pressure switch and place it back.
If you observe that the pressure switch is faulty, then please replace it.
Faulty Electronic Board
Many times during power surge, the electronic board may get damaged. Also, sometimes due to moisture, the wires in the electronic board can get short circuits and hence will not work correctly. It will result in the Frigidaire Dishwasher Error Code i30.
If you see that the electronic board is damaged or faulty, then replace it with a new one.
